ADDIS ABABA May 13 (Reuters) – Ethiopia’s inflation rate rose to 9.3 percent year-on-year in April from 8.5 percent the previous month, thanks to a rise in both food and non-food prices, the statistics office said on Wednesday.

The Central Statistics Agency said food price inflation increased to 10.8 percent in April from 10.1 percent in March.

The non-food inflation rate rose to 7.6 percent in April from 6.9 percent in the previous month, owing to a rise in the prices of items such as clothing, the statistics agency said. (Reporting by Aaron Maasho; Editing by James Macharia)
