In a tone of rage, anger and sadness, Selamawit Abebayehu laments destruction of Taytu hotel, Ethiopia’s first hotel, by a fire which is not yet fully explained how it all started and why it was not put off while the fire brigade is just five minutes from Taytu hotel.
Selamawit finishes off her poem , Tenbogebogelesh ( here it goes blazing) , by pointing to the generation to which she belongs that failed the test of time to live up to preserving the good of Ethiopia for which much was paid – in life and otherwise.
