Although it is something that takes a study to establish ( or to confirm) the data every 30 seconds people take away their won lives,much of the confession could relate to the lives of many folks. Depression is a reality for many in this postmodern age.
Unfortunately, the challenge seem to be approached predominantly from a psychoanalytic trajectory. I have never heard for instance about the role of the way the system is designed, the role of repression and poverty, among other things.
Is the tendency of discounting the role that society outlook is more and more shaped by material values, greed and individualism as opposed to values that emphasize on true values?
