Toronto- Leaders of Sudan’s two main opposition groups met in London, according to Sudan Tribune report this past Friday.

Sadiq al-Mahdi, leader of National Umma Party (NUP) who is said to be based in Cairo, and Mohammed Osman al-Mirghani who is leader of Democratic Unity Party met in London “to discuss the political situation in the country and ways to end war and achieve democratic reforms in Sudan, but their meeting wrapped up without a joint statement.”

However, based on Sudan Tribune’s report NUP president seem to give the impression that the meeting between the two leaders in London is rather of not political. Al-Mirghani who was in London for ‘medical treatment’ was visited by Sadiq al-Mahdi,the NUP president.

The parties are said to have called for the postponement of election in Sudan.
