Ethiopia has received 6oo million dollars worth of International Development Association Credits (IDAC) from World Bank (WB). The credit was approved by the Board of Executive Directors of the WB for Productive Safety Nets Project 4 (PSNP4).
The funds will be used to expand access to safety nets and disaster risk management systems, as well as provide nutrition services and income support to food insecure families living in rural Ethiopia.
The Productive Safety Net Programme (PSNP) launched in 2005 to improve food insecurity, reduce household vulnerability and promote sustainable community development.
This fourth phase will be implemented in 411 districts in Ethiopia, reaching up to 10 million food insecure people a year, and includes a total budget of approximately 3.6 billion dollars from the government and 11 partners
