(Borkena) Ethiopia’s two major opposition parties are merging according to report by Finote Netsanet. Unity for Democracy and Justice (UDJ) and All Ethiopian Unity party (AEPU) are expected to sign merger agreement in a matter of days.
UDJ party national council and Higher body of AEUP are said to have passed resolution to conclude merger. Come next Thursday, the two parties will sign merger agreement.
The resolution is said to have passed in a meeting held at AEUP office.
The source indicated intellectuals in the country and renowned personalities in Ethiopia were brokering the deal to form a single party.
