(Borkena) Executive Members of Arena Tigray party are reportedly assaulted in Adigrat, Tigray regional state. Abraha Desta, activitst and active member of Arena Tigray, disclosed on this facebook timeline that thugs like supporters of the ruling TPLF party in Adigrat attacked members of Arena party leadership. Arena was apparently in the business of organizing peaceful public meeting which was to be held this Sunday. Abraha added that the attack on members of Arena Tigray members happened in the watch of Police and government officials in the town.
Asegede Gebresellasie one of the leadership and vocal critic of the ruling TPLF/EPRDF regime is said to be detained. Now dissident, Asegede Gebresellasie was one of the founding members of Tigray people’s Liberation Front (TPLF) in the 1970’s.
Arena is one of the opposition parties in Ethiopia and is based in Tigray regional state in Northern Ethiopia
